Tianchi Lake, also known as Heavenly Lake, is a renowned scenic spot located 33 kilometers south of Fukang City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a natural landscape centered around an alpine lake. The lake, situated at an elevation of 1,980 meters, takes on a half-moon shape, stretching 3,400 meters from north to south and approximately 1,500 meters at its widest point, covering an area of 4.9 square kilometers with a maximum depth of about 105 meters. The water is crystal clear, surrounded by mountains, lush green grass, and colorful wildflowers, earning it the title "Pearl of the Tianshan"。
Historically, Tianchi was referred to as "Yaochi," the legendary site where the Queen Mother of the West entertained King Mu of Zhou. It not only boasts beautiful natural scenery but also rich cultural heritage. For instance, Qiu Chuji, the leader of the Quanzhen School of Taoism, left behind poems and constructed the Iron Tile Temple here.
